Technology
Scry solutions are based on the cutting edge achievements of deep learning research and our know-how methods to improve robustness of video recognition in real-life settings.
It is relatively easy to do face recognition for still images, such as photographs uploaded to a social network. However, in case of CCTV footage, individual frames are typically not as sharp and crisp, especially under difficult lighting conditions or when the subjects are moving. On the other hand, consecutive frames of a video are related to each other, but standard algorithms developed for photographs can not leverage this information.
Algorithms used in Scry solutions are developed specifically for this case. We extract information from the entire sequence of frames simultaneously, achieving better recognition accuracy compared to solutions based on frame-by-frame processing.
On top of it, out software engineering process is built with the focus on delivering robust and efficient product. We continuously test our solutions not only for the functional stability, but also for high recognition accuracy on a range of reference videos, as well as for high computational efficiency in order to be able to deploy on edge devices.
Scry consists of two modules:
- BHD is where the actual analytics is happening: raw videos are transformed into information about unique faces and locations. BHD module is doing edge computing. This means that the processing happens right where the data is, and your sensitive video does not need to leave internal network. BHD can process multiple video streams simultaneously and from different sources such as recorded files or IP video streams. It can leverage existing CCTV infrastructure, making installation easier and reducing adoption costs.
- ILT module accumulates information extracted from video streams by one or multiple BHD modules. ILT transforms this information into meaningful statistics and presents it via web-based dashboard.
Where Scry can assist
If you use video surveillance system in office, retail store etc. you may want to get a look at the data you gather every day in a way that helps you to better understand your visitors or employees behavior. Scry can assist here on an impersonalized basis: not related to exact person but to all audience. How many unique visitors, how many new visitors vs returning, conversion rate, average daily visitors, area heat-map etc.
If you have a security restricted area and use CCVT and employ guards you may want to secure your guards' work by providing them a huge assistance by identifying each visitor and defining by guest/employee or other groups. Scry can notify a guard in case a guest is detected in a restricted area. She can be adjusted in order to perform different goals.
